Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Announced for PC and Consoles in First Trailer

Bandai Namco officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 in Los Angeles, ending speculation around the project that was previously teased as “Age 1000” earlier this year. The announcement marks the long-awaited sequel to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, which launched in 2016—nearly a decade ago—making this the first major entry in the franchise in ten years.

The game will release in 2027 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 is not currently confirmed for launch, though Bandai Namco has already brought other recent Dragon Ball titles to Nintendo’s hybrid platform. The project’s codename “Age 1000” references the game’s timeline setting, taking place far in the future relative to the main Dragon Ball storyline, which occurs around Age 700.

The first official trailer, nearly four minutes in length, featured redesigned character designs and voice acting, including an older version of Bulma and a new character named Brett. Like previous Xenoverse games, the title emphasizes player-created custom characters as central to the experience.

Notably, the late series creator Akira Toriyama contributed directly to Xenoverse 3 before his death in 2024, making it one of his final works. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will receive its final piece of DLC, titled “Future Saga Chapter 4,” launching in Summer 2026.

The announcement came alongside other Dragon Ball Gaming announcements at the event, including updates for Dragon Ball Sparking: Zero.
