HBO’s The Last of Us TV show casts Yara and Lev’s mother, Miriam
Li Jun Li, known for her role in Sinners, has been cast as Miriam in The Last of Us Season 3 on HBO. Miriam is the mother of the characters Yara and Lev, both members of the Seraphites—a religious faction featured in the games’ narrative.
The casting announcement rounds out a substantial ensemble for the upcoming season, which has already added Jason Ritter, Patrick Wilson, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Spencer Lord, among others. The show continues to expand its cast to bring key characters from The Last of Us Part II to television, following the critical success of the first two seasons starring Bella Ramsey as Ellie and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.
This development reflects HBO’s commitment to faithfully adapting the acclaimed Naughty Dog video game series. Season 3’s focus on Miriam and other Seraphite characters suggests the season will explore the religious cult’s central role in the game’s plot and conflicts, remaining true to the source material’s narrative direction.
