Pragmata Looks Best on PS5 Pro, Say Tech Experts

Digital Foundry’s technical analysis confirms that Pragmata delivers superior performance and visual quality on PlayStation 5 Pro compared to the base PS5 console. The upgraded console, featuring Sony’s new PSSR2 upscaler technology introduced earlier this year, continues to outperform standard hardware across games, maintaining this advantage with the platformer’s release.

On base PS5, Pragmata runs at 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second but relies on the older FSR1 upscaling technology to reach its final output, which results in noticeably poor overall image quality. In contrast, the PS5 Pro version offers substantially improved visuals while maintaining performance targets.

When playing in Frame Rate mode on PS5 Pro, the game achieves an almost-locked 60fps performance, though this is accomplished by disabling ray tracing effects for screen-space reflections. This trade-off highlights the optimization decisions developers make between visual fidelity and smooth performance. The PS5 Pro’s enhanced hardware capabilities, particularly its advanced upscaling technology, enable the system to provide a more polished visual experience compared to the base model. This performance disparity mirrors similar results seen with titles like Resident Evil Requiem, further demonstrating the PS5 Pro’s technical superiority in delivering enhanced gaming experiences.
