Alien: Rogue Incursion - Part One Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 Today

Survios has shadow-dropped Alien: Rogue Incursion - Part One: Evolved Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of Alien Day (April 26th), with a PlayStation 4 version announced for future release. Originally developed as a VR experience that launched in December 2024, the game was subsequently ported to PlayStation 5 and PC on September 30, 2025, and now reaches Nintendo’s latest handheld platform.

The Switch 2 release features specialized controls that leverage the handheld’s Joy-Con capabilities. Players can place the Joy-Con on a flat surface to activate mouse-controlled precision aiming—a control scheme similar to that implemented in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. This adaptation demonstrates how developers are utilizing Switch 2’s input flexibility for cross-platform ports.

In Rogue Incursion, players assume the role of Zula Hendricks, an ex-Colonial Marine, as she explores the uncharted planet Purdan and confronts hostile xenomorphs. The character is drawn from the Alien franchise’s extended universe of comics and novels. The game’s development was influenced by Alien: Isolation, incorporating similar atmospheric design principles.

Critical reception has been generally positive, with reviewers praising the game’s atmosphere and authenticity to the Alien franchise. However, some critics noted that gameplay could become repetitive during extended play sessions. The Switch 2 port aims to bring these strengths to a portable platform while introducing the title to players who may not have experienced it on VR or other consoles.
