Tailing Missions Have Been ‘Revamped’ in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Ubisoft has confirmed major details about Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a full remake of the 2013 pirate-adventure game. The remake will feature significant gameplay redesigns, including overhauls to the notoriously frustrating tailing and eavesdropping missions from the original that have been reworked to improve the player experience.
The game will be marketed as a “pure story-driven adventure” focused entirely on Edward Kenway’s narrative. Original voice actor Matt Ryan is returning to reprise the role of the charismatic pirate protagonist. The Animus framing device—the series’ modern-day narrative structure—will be retained and reworked with new story moments and content.
Combat mechanics have been redesigned with an “action-oriented” approach, striking a middle ground between the classic Assassin’s Creed formula and the full RPG direction of recent entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. Ubisoft has made the strategic decision to exclude multiplayer modes and new DLC content, instead concentrating development entirely on the single-player experience. A Collector’s Edition with special physical merchandise is planned. The original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and its DLC will remain available for purchase. Official details will be revealed during Ubisoft’s April 23 showcase.
