Rumour: Ubisoft Working on Another Assassin’s Creed Remake Besides Black Flag

Ubisoft is preparing to announce a second Assassin’s Creed remake in addition to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, which is set to receive its official reveal this week for PlayStation 5. According to insider reporting, the company has “at least one more” franchise remake currently in development, with the possibility of additional remakes depending on how well Black Flag Resynced performs commercially.

The plan aligns with previous reporting from May 2025 that outlined an ambitious roadmap featuring nine Assassin’s Creed titles planned across the next six years. At that time, two remakes were confirmed to be in active development. The new reporting suggests that Ubisoft is proceeding cautiously with the remake initiative, using Black Flag Resynced’s reception as a benchmark for whether to move forward with additional remake projects.

While the identity of the second remake remains unconfirmed, the strategy reflects Ubisoft’s broader effort to capitalize on the nostalgic appeal of classic Assassin’s Creed titles while modernizing them for current-generation hardware. The success of Black Flag Resynced could therefore determine not only whether the second confirmed remake moves forward, but potentially whether Ubisoft expands the remake pipeline beyond what’s currently in development.
