Kingdom Come Dev Donating Money To Help Restore IRL Castle Featured In The Game

Warhorse Studios, the developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, has announced a donation campaign to support the restoration of Pirkštejn castle, a real-world Bohemian landmark featured in their acclaimed medieval RPG. During Steam’s Medieval Fest sale event, which runs through April 27, Warhorse will donate $1 from each Kingdom Come sale to fund the castle’s reconstruction efforts.

The Pirkštejn castle holds special significance within Kingdom Come: Deliverance, serving as the home of the player’s character in the fictional city of Rattay. This real-world location inspired much of the game’s authentic medieval setting and architecture. By tying their charitable initiative to the Steam Medieval Fest promotional period, Warhorse is leveraging increased game sales during the sale event to directly benefit the castle’s preservation.

This initiative represents an interesting convergence of gaming and cultural heritage preservation. Players purchasing the game during the promotional window will indirectly contribute to the restoration of a historical site that inspired their gaming experience. The campaign demonstrates how game developers can channel commercial success toward real-world historical conservation efforts.
