Studio Ghibli’s next film arrives in July, as a Ghibli Park exclusive

Studio Ghibli will debut a new short film on July 8, 2026. Approximately titled “Night in the Valley of Witches,” the film was created exclusively for Ghibli Park in Japan and will screen nowhere else. While Studio Ghibli has no feature-length projects currently in development that are publicly known, the studio will maintain its presence on the big screen through Studio Ghibli Fest 2026. The festival will showcase classic Ghibli work, including a special one-night IMAX screening of “The Secret World of Arrietty” next month.

The exclusive short film represents Studio Ghibli’s commitment to Ghibli Park, the studio’s thematic attraction in Japan. Rather than a theatrical wide release, the new work will be available only to visitors at the park, making it a destination draw for fans of the renowned animation studio. This approach differs from traditional theatrical releases, positioning the film as a park-exclusive experience.

Additionally, Studio Ghibli continues expanding its presence through merchandise and collectibles, with a new artbook featuring over 800 pieces of background art from the studio’s productions.
