Horror cult classic Ginger Snaps is getting a fresh new 4k rerelease via Lionsgate

Ginger Snaps, the cult horror classic, is receiving a fresh 4K restoration and re-release through Lionsgate’s Vestron Collector’s Series to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Vestron, once a pioneering force in the home video market, is now focused on high-quality horror film re-releases from the Lionsgate catalog. This marks the 39th release under the Vestron Collector’s Series label, which has previously distributed acclaimed horror films including Ken Russell’s Gothic and Anthony Hickox’s Waxwork. The new release features cover art by Chelsea Lowe.

The film centers on two teenage sisters, Ginger and Brigitte, who are deeply obsessed with death and form a childhood pact to either escape the suburbs or die together by age 16. After Ginger is bitten by a werewolf, she undergoes a dramatic transformation, becoming increasingly aggressive and attracting unwanted attention from boys at school. As the sisters navigate this supernatural change, their enemies begin turning up dead, adding a layer of intrigue to the unfolding narrative.
