Kiki Wolfkill, former Halo veteran and film and TV head at Xbox, exits Microsoft after 28 years
Kiki Wolfkill has departed Microsoft after 28 years, with her final day on April 17, 2026. The longtime industry veteran, most recently serving as Head of Film and TV at Xbox since late 2022, described her decision as “difficult but exhilarating” in a LinkedIn announcement, signaling she is ready to pursue new opportunities.
Wolfkill’s nearly three-decade tenure at Microsoft established her as a key figure in the company’s gaming and entertainment divisions. Her career began in 1998 as Director of Art at Microsoft Game Studios, a role she held through 2007, before transitioning into production. She served as Executive Producer on Halo 4 and became Studio Head of Halo Transmedia and Entertainment from 2015 to 2022, playing an instrumental role in developing the Halo television series. Throughout her career, she contributed to numerous acclaimed titles including Mass Effect, Fable, and Forza Motorsport.
Her departure occurs during a period of organizational transition at Microsoft under new CEO Asha Sharma. Wolfkill’s exit represents a significant loss of institutional knowledge and leadership experience from Xbox’s entertainment initiatives, though her farewell message emphasized gratitude for her time at the company and the professional lessons learned about leadership and accountability.
