Feature: How To Run Pragmata At 1440p on PlayStation 5 - But Should You?

Capcom’s Pragmata uses native 1080p resolution with FSR 1 spatial upscaling to reach 4K output on standard PlayStation 5, available in both resolution and frame-rate modes. However, a technical quirk has been discovered: players who first play Pragmata on PlayStation 5 Pro can use cloud saves to transfer their progress to a base PS5 console, where the game will run at 1440p instead of 1080p. This upgrade functions in both gameplay modes and provides noticeably improved visual quality.

Running at 1440p represents a 78-percent increase in pixel density, resulting in measurable performance drops depending on which mode is selected. Despite this performance cost, the enhanced fidelity delivers a meaningful visual improvement that many players may find worthwhile over the standard 1080p experience.

The 1440p support is already present within the game’s code, raising questions about why Capcom has not officially enabled this option for all PS5 players. Currently, the feature remains undocumented and accessible only through the PS5 Pro workaround, suggesting potential untapped optimization possibilities for the base hardware.
