How to rebuild Strixhaven’s Prismari Artistry Commander deck for Vivi Ornitier
This Polygon article examines how players can rebuild Strixhaven’s preconstructed Prismari Artistry Commander deck around the commander Vivi Ornitier. The author shares their personal journey with Magic: The Gathering, highlighting a historical preference for green creature-focused strategies and a traditional aversion to blue’s control-oriented playstyle. Despite these long-standing preferences, their latest deck project embraces a blue-red spell-slinging combination.
The article presents a LEGO-inspired philosophy toward Commander deck customization, encouraging players to view preconstructed decks not as finished products but as modular sets meant to be disassembled and reconfigured around specific commanders or strategies. The author notes that they’ve been considering building a Vivi Ornitier deck for some time, with MagicCon Las Vegas 2026 serving as motivation to finally begin the project.
