This Week’s Epic Games Store Freebie Is All About Doom And Blades
Epic Games Store continues its long-running weekly free game promotion program, which distributes at least one new free PC game every Thursday at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. This week’s offering is Doomblade, a stylish and action-focused 2023 Metroidvania title.
In Doomblade, players control Gloom Girl, who encounters a sentient sword also called the Doomblade. The blade, imprisoned for eons, seeks revenge against the Dread Lords who held it captive. The game is positioned as a strong choice for Metroidvania enthusiasts, following recent notable releases in the genre such as Hollow Knight: Silksong and Mio: Memories in Orbit.
To claim the free game, players need to create an Epic Games account and enable two-factor authentication. The free game will remain available for one week before being replaced by new offerings. The Epic Games Store’s free game program has become a significant benefit for PC gamers, having distributed hundreds of titles over its duration with no indication of stopping. The company has also extended the program to Android devices, allowing mobile players to claim one free game weekly as well.
