Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Adds Free Story Mode, Price Drops to $19.99 on PS5, PS4
SNK has announced a significant first anniversary update for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, bringing free story content alongside a price reduction on PlayStation platforms. The update launches on April 24, 2026, and includes a new visual novel-style story mode called “Wolves’ Destiny.”
The Wolves’ Destiny mode presents an interactive manga-style narrative depicting Wolfgang Krauser’s return to South Town and his power struggle against rival Kain R. Heinlein. While not fully animated like story modes in some other fighting games, the mode features 150 new illustrations and full voice acting to accompany the narrative.
This addition expands the game’s single-player offerings alongside the existing Episodes of South Town mode, providing substantially more narrative content than typical fighting game releases. The update also brings new DLC character Wolfgang Krauser and includes a comprehensive UI overhaul.
As part of the anniversary celebration, the base game receives a permanent price reduction to $19.99 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, making the title more accessible to new players. This continues SNK’s pattern of substantial post-launch support for the title, demonstrating the publisher’s commitment to expanding content and the player base through free additions.
