‘We’ve been getting around two days of normal work out of it’: Proton GE dev GloriousEggRoll and CachyOS offer early praise for Framework 13 Pro’s ‘freakishly good battery life’
Framework has announced the Framework 13 Pro, a modular laptop that has garnered early praise from the Linux and open-source gaming community for its exceptional battery life. Notable figures including Proton GE developer GloriousEggRoll and CachyOS have offered positive initial impressions, particularly highlighting the device’s ability to deliver approximately two days of normal work usage on a single charge—described as “freakishly good battery life.”
The Framework 13 Pro appears to address a long-standing concern for mobile computing enthusiasts and gaming laptop users, who traditionally struggle with battery endurance during extended work sessions. The modular design of Framework’s laptops, combined with the power efficiency demonstrated by the new Pro model, positions it as an appealing option for developers and users in the open-source Linux community who value both performance and portability.
