Free Steam horror game is perfect for Paranormal Activity fans
Steam is offering a limited-time free promotion for the horror/hidden object game 8AM through April 27 at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT. The 2024 indie title, which normally costs $3.99, has earned strong player approval with “very positive” Steam reviews from over 100 users.
Despite its horror elements and jump scares, 8AM offers an unexpectedly relaxing gameplay experience. Players search for anomalies through security camera footage—a mechanic that contrasts with the game’s spooky atmosphere inspired by the Paranormal Activity film franchise. This unique blend of unsettling visuals and meditative gameplay has resonated with the community.
The game was developed by David Gallardo, creator of the similarly horror-themed Doll Impostor. The free promotion represents a valuable opportunity for players to experience well-reviewed indie horror at no cost before the window closes on April 27.
