Xbox Game Pass ‘Starter Edition’ Tied to Discord Nitro Leaks Online
A leaked partnership between Microsoft and Discord has been revealed through datamining, introducing a new Xbox Game Pass tier called “Starter Edition” that will be bundled with Discord Nitro subscriptions.
The Starter Edition will provide Discord Nitro subscribers with access to over 50 games from the existing Game Pass library, including titles such as Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, Gears of War, Hades, and Grounded. In addition to the game library, subscribers will receive 10 hours per month of Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming access and the ability to earn Xbox Rewards points.
This collaboration was teased by Microsoft earlier in the week without specific details, and dataminers—including one with the handle ‘redphx’—have now uncovered the official name and features of the new tier. The Starter Edition represents a more limited version of standard Game Pass offerings, with the curated selection of games appearing to draw from both first-party and third-party titles.
The partnership positions Game Pass as a value-add incentive for Discord’s premium subscription service, which has a substantial user base. The leak does not indicate whether the Starter Edition will include online multiplayer functionality, a feature typically associated with standard Game Pass tiers.
