Lego’s Shrek Set Is Up For Preorder, Unfortunately So Is This Donkey
LEGO has unveiled its first official Shrek sets to celebrate the animated franchise’s 25th anniversary, in collaboration with Universal and DreamWorks Animation. The primary set, #72423, features 1,403 pieces and is priced at $129.99, with a release date of June 1.
The set includes posable, buildable versions of Shrek and Donkey, alongside a minifigure version of Puss in Boots. The display build features a swamp-themed base complete with Shrek’s iconic “Beware Ogre!” sign, complemented by environmental details including sunflowers, an onion, and a blue flower with red thorns. The set incorporates an interactive element: Shrek’s belly can be opened to reveal Easter eggs such as an eyeball and a waffle.
The LEGO Shrek set is currently available for preorder exclusively through the LEGO Store. This marks the first time the beloved DreamWorks characters have been adapted into official LEGO form, making the sets a notable milestone for both the toy company and the long-running animated franchise as it reaches its 25-year milestone.
