Xbox Rewards Adds Brand-New ‘Birthday Gift’ Feature With Special Benefits

Microsoft has introduced a new “Birthday Gift” feature to Xbox Rewards, officially launching this week. The feature provides Xbox players with special benefits during their birthday week, including a redeemable “birthday gift” and the ability to earn double Xbox Rewards points on all purchases throughout that seven-day period.

The feature was first discovered by observant Xbox Rewards users and subsequently confirmed by Xbox employee Brenna Duffitt, who praised the team’s work on the implementation. Duffitt described the feature as having required “a shocking amount of work” to develop and expressed enthusiasm about finally releasing it to the community. The announcement includes messaging showing users how the birthday gift benefit will appear in their Rewards interface.

The new feature represents an expansion of Xbox Rewards’ existing loyalty program, which enables players to earn points through various activities that can be redeemed for games, Game Pass subscriptions, and other Xbox-related content. The birthday gift initiative underscores Microsoft’s ongoing effort to enhance player engagement and retention within the Xbox ecosystem through personalized incentives and limited-time promotional opportunities tied to individual user milestones.
