PS5 Live Service Fairgames Reportedly Roasted in Recent Pre-Alpha

Haven Studios’ live-service shooter Fairgames continues to face significant negative sentiment following its 2023 reveal, receiving what reports suggest was an even worse reception than Ubisoft’s ill-fated Concord—which launched and was shut down within weeks.

Despite sustained criticism, the project persists in development. Haven Studios recently conducted a pre-alpha test for the free-to-play title under the codename “Espresso,” restricted to select players under strict non-disclosure agreements intended to control information flow.

However, details from the hands-on test are emerging regardless. Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, a reliable source for industry leaks, has obtained gameplay footage and screenshots from the game’s Discord community, where playtesters were providing feedback on their experience.

The leaked information suggests the pre-alpha testing round failed to reverse the game’s troubled public perception. This marks another chapter in Fairgames’ difficult development cycle as Haven Studios attempts to salvage a project that has struggled to gain positive momentum since its initial announcement nearly three years ago.
