The Boys’ Spin-off Series Gen V Canceled

Amazon has canceled Gen V, the superhero spinoff series centered on Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, after two seasons. However, the cancellation does not mark the end of the Gen V universe, as characters from the show will continue their stories in The Boys Season 5—the final season of the original series—and in other projects within the Vought Cinematic Universe.

Executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg offered reassurance in a joint statement: “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.”

The cancellation announcement came alongside positive news for the franchise. Vought Rising, a prequel series set in the 1950s, has received a 2027 release date. Additionally, The Boys: Mexico is in development. These spinoff announcements suggest Amazon remains committed to expanding the Vought Cinematic Universe despite Gen V’s early conclusion.
