We May Never Get Another Titanfall, But This Game Could Be The Next Best Thing
With no new Titanfall game on the horizon from publisher EA, indie developer Tetra Studios is stepping in to revive the franchise’s legacy. The studio is developing ShatterRush, a multiplayer parkour FPS that aims to capture the essence of Titanfall’s human-mech combat style while blending elements from other popular titles like The Finals and Battlefield.
ShatterRush emphasizes dynamic movement and verticality through parkour mechanics, core elements that defined Titanfall’s appeal to its dedicated player base. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam Early Access in Q3 2027, meaning players won’t be able to dive in until late next year. However, interested players can download and test an open pre-alpha demo immediately to experience what the studio is building.
This indie effort represents a potential spiritual successor to Titanfall, as EA has shown no signs of continuing the franchise despite its cult following. Fans of fast-paced, movement-focused shooters have an opportunity to see if ShatterRush can fill the void left by the stalled series. The early access launch will allow the developers to gather community feedback and iterate on the game before its full release.
