It’s Been 84 Years! GBC-Inspired Adventure Mina the Hollower Is Finally Ready for PS5 Release

Mina the Hollower, the highly anticipated Game Boy Color-inspired adventure game from Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games, has officially gone gold, marking the completion of development. The studio announced the milestone via social media, confirming that the game is finished and has entered the submission process with first-party partners.

While an exact release date remains unconfirmed, Mina the Hollower is targeted for Spring 2026. Yacht Club Games stated in their announcement that they will share the release date “as soon as we can,” indicating approval from platform partners is the final hurdle before launch.

The “gone gold” status is industry terminology meaning development is complete and the game is ready for manufacturing and distribution. For Mina the Hollower, this represents a significant milestone after considerable development time, and suggests a release is imminent pending platform approvals.

The game has generated substantial anticipation within the indie gaming community. A time-limited demo was previously made available to build interest and gather feedback during the development cycle.
