Assassin’s Creed Hexe Game Director Benoit Richer Exits Ubisoft Just Months After Departure of Previous Creative Director

Benoit Richer, game director of Assassin’s Creed Hexe, has announced his departure from Ubisoft Montreal. Richer revealed via LinkedIn that he is leaving to co-found indie studio Servo Games, where he will serve as game director alongside three other co-founders.

This marks the second significant leadership departure from the Hexe project in as many months. Creative director Clint Hocking left the project in February, preceding Richer’s exit. The successive losses of director-level developers raise questions about the project’s direction and internal stability during its development.

Neither Richer nor Ubisoft has publicly disclosed specific reasons for the departures. Ubisoft has not yet commented on how the exodus of key creative leadership will impact the Hexe project’s timeline, scope, or vision moving forward.
