Capcom throws Resident Evil party featuring Geoff Keighley, as Requiem clears 7 million sales
Resident Evil Requiem has reached a major sales milestone, surpassing 7 million copies sold worldwide. The achievement marks a significant commercial success for Capcom, as Requiem is now the fastest-selling entry in the Resident Evil franchise to date.
Capcom celebrated the milestone with a staff party attended by Geoff Keighley, the producer and host of The Game Awards. According to director Koshi Nakanishi, who shared images from the event on his Instagram stories, the celebration featured Leon and Grace-themed cakes, referencing the game’s protagonists.
The festivities extended beyond the standard celebration, with Keighley reportedly hosting an “after-party bingo” for attendees. The presence of such a prominent industry figure underscores the cultural significance of Requiem’s commercial performance within the gaming industry.
The rapid ascent to 7 million sales demonstrates strong consumer interest in the Resident Evil brand, suggesting the game has resonated with both longtime fans and new players. The title’s success reinforces Capcom’s position as a major player in the horror gaming space.
