ARC Raiders Gets Upgraded PSSR Update Tomorrow

ARC Raiders, Embark Studios’ extraction shooter for PS5 Pro, will receive update 1.26 on April 28, 2026, introducing support for PlayStation’s upgraded PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) technology. This enhancement brings several visual improvements specifically designed for the PS5 Pro’s hardware capabilities.

The upgraded PSSR implementation will deliver a noticeably sharper and more stable image quality. A key improvement is the reduction of visual artifacts like flickering and shimmering that can occur during gameplay. The new technology also handles “moving geometry” more accurately than traditional upscaling techniques, resulting in cleaner character and object movement, particularly in the detail-rich environments that define ARC Raiders’ design.

According to Embark Studios’ Robert Kihl on the PlayStation Blog, the upgraded PSSR brings “meaningful improvements that PS5 Pro players will notice immediately” in the game’s demanding environments. The technology directly addresses visual hitches common in fast-paced extraction gameplay, providing a more stable and immersive experience on Sony’s high-end console.

This update is part of a broader adoption trend on PS5 Pro, with other titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, and Control having already implemented the upgraded PSSR technology. The implementation demonstrates ongoing developer support for maximizing the PS5 Pro’s capabilities and improving visual presentation across the platform’s library.
