Hong Kong-set ‘bodycam FPS’ Better Than Dead gets a release date
Better Than Dead, a first-person shooter featuring bodycam footage mechanics, has received a release date following the announcement of a new gameplay trailer. Developed by Monte Gallo, the game is set in Hong Kong and channels the distinctive action style characteristic of Hong Kong cinema.
The game will launch in Early Access on Steam on May 12th. According to the Steam page, Monte Gallo intends to remain in Early Access for approximately six to twelve months, during which time the developers will improve and expand the game based on player feedback and community input.
The Early Access release will feature a complete campaign, providing players with the full narrative experience from launch. This ensures that early adopters can experience the game’s full story arc without waiting for the official release.
When Better Than Dead eventually exits Early Access and receives its full launch, it will introduce several additions: a more challenging “hardcore” mode called “For Heaven,” additional levels expanding the game world, and the game’s “true ending” that completes the overall narrative arc.
