Final Fantasy X Turns 25 This Summer, as Square Enix Opens Special Website
Final Fantasy X, the iconic PlayStation 2 RPG that launched in 2001, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on July 19, 2026. To commemorate the milestone, Square Enix has launched a dedicated anniversary website featuring new merchandise offerings.
The website currently showcases content targeted at the Japanese market, including character plushies, an art book, and a vinyl record set featuring the game’s acclaimed soundtrack. Western availability of these items has not yet been confirmed by the publisher.
Square Enix is expected to announce additional anniversary-related initiatives as the July date approaches. While specific details remain unconfirmed, the publisher’s investment in a dedicated website suggests further celebrations beyond merchandise are planned. The announcement marks a significant milestone for one of the most influential entries in the Final Fantasy franchise, which continues to maintain a dedicated player base across multiple platforms nearly 25 years after its original release.
