LEC Esports World Cup Qualifier Preview

The League of Legends EMEA Qualifiers commence on April 28, launching the competitive process to determine EMEA’s representatives at the Esports World Cup. The tournament features all 10 LEC teams alongside EMEA Masters finalists Solary and Galions, creating a 12-team qualifier.

The stakes are substantial, with the Esports World Cup offering a $2 million prize pool. The qualification pathway awards spots to the top two teams from the qualifier tournament as well as the eventual LEC Spring Split Champions, providing multiple routes to the international competition.

In preparation for the high-stakes tournament, several organizations have adjusted their rosters. Shifters announced the return of mid laner Théo ‘Sheo’ Borile, while SK Gaming has signed Seo ‘SlowQ’ Ye-bit, who previously played as a midlaner for Misa Esports and KCorp Blue.

The qualifier’s opening schedule features notable matchups including Fnatic versus Shifters at 17:00 CEST (12:00 EDT) and Natus Vincere against Galions, with competition continuing throughout the week as teams vie for their place at the international event.
