Nintendo Music Takes To The Court With A Mario Tennis Album Update

The Nintendo Music mobile application has received an update adding the complete Mario Tennis Aces soundtrack. The soundtrack comprises 26 tracks with a total runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes, composed by acclaimed video game composer Motoi Sakuraba.

Mario Tennis Aces was originally released on the Nintendo Switch in 2018 by developer Camelot. The game is known for its competitive tennis gameplay featuring Mario franchise characters across various courts and game modes. Sakuraba’s composition work provides the musical backdrop for the title screen, courts, environments, and victory sequences included in the game.

Sakuraba is a prolific video game composer with an extensive portfolio spanning multiple franchises and genres. Beyond his work on the Mario Tennis series, he has composed music for the Mario Golf series, FromSoftware’s Dark Souls games, the Golden Sun RPG franchise, and the Star Ocean series, demonstrating considerable versatility across different game types and styles.

The addition to Nintendo Music continues the platform’s ongoing expansion of game soundtracks from Nintendo’s extensive catalog. The timing of this update is notable as it coincides with the upcoming release of Mario Tennis Fever on the Nintendo Switch 2, maintaining visibility for the Mario Tennis franchise as it enters its next-generation entry.
