How to Get Shiny Volcanion in Pokémon Home
After nine years of being permanently Shiny-locked in the Pokémon franchise, Shiny Volcanion is now available to claim as a reward in Pokémon Home. The variant was previously unobtainable in the games despite appearing as a “Shining Volcanion” card during the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s Sun and Moon era.
To obtain Shiny Volcanion, players must complete all three Pokédexes in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The game features multiple regional Pokédexes, including the Lumiose Pokédex, which contains all available Pokémon found within Lumiose City. This unlock system ties progression in the latest mainline Pokémon game directly to rewards accessible through the Pokémon Home service.
The availability of Shiny Volcanion represents a rare exception to the franchise’s typical approach to Shiny-locked Pokémon, which are rarely made accessible after their initial period of exclusivity. The move provides longtime collectors and completionists the opportunity to add the previously unobtainable variant to their collections.
