Tetris 99’s New Crossover Event Celebrates Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, Unlock A Special Theme
Nintendo is hosting a crossover event in Tetris 99 to celebrate the launch of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on Nintendo Switch. The event, known as the 53 Cup, runs from May 1st to May 4th, 2026, and is available to players with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
Players who accumulate 100 points during the event will unlock an exclusive theme featuring artwork, music, and custom Tetrimino designs inspired by Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. This crossover represents Nintendo’s continued strategy of promoting new releases through its popular battle royale title.
The timing coincides with recent support for the new Tomodachi Life game. Last week, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream received its first update addressing various technical issues. Additionally, Nintendo has released new Switch Online icons and added select tracks from the new Tomodachi Life to its mobile music app, expanding the game’s presence across the company’s ecosystem.
