Like a Dragon’s Majima Brings Another Yakuza Icon to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on PS5, PS4
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is receiving its next free content update on April 29, 2026, introducing Goro Majima as a new playable character. The character appears in his guise from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, representing SEGA’s acclaimed crime drama action series alongside Ichiban Kasuga, who previously joined the kart racer.
Majima’s vehicle design matches his pirate-themed appearance in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, resulting in an unconventional addition to the game’s roster: a fully functional pirate ship called the Goromaru that races on wheels. The developers note this is “the game’s silliest yet,” suggesting a humorous approach to character integration.
Beyond the new playable character, the update includes special emotes and sounds exclusive to Majima. This content is free for all players who own the base game and requires only a patch download upon release.
This marks the third announced free character addition to the crossover kart racer. Red from Angry Birds was previously added, with at least one more free character confirmed to follow Majima’s debut. The ongoing content updates demonstrate SEGA’s commitment to expanding the game’s roster with characters from its various franchises and partner properties.
