Take-Two Boss Gives Hope For LA Noire 2 And Other Sequels
At the inaugural iicon conference in Las Vegas, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that the company is actively considering reviving the L.A. Noire franchise, giving fans their first concrete hint of a potential sequel after over a decade since the original game’s 2011 release.
When asked directly if Take-Two was planning to do more with L.A. Noire, Zelnick initially responded affirmatively with “Yes,” before tempering expectations by noting “You never know.” He elaborated that Take-Two is constantly exploring how to develop all of its intellectual properties in the future, though he emphasized there is nothing concrete to announce at this time. Zelnick also noted that any announcements regarding Rockstar franchises would come directly from Rockstar, not from Take-Two’s corporate level.
In related comments at the same event, Zelnick addressed ongoing speculation about Grand Theft Auto 6’s pricing. He declined to confirm the game’s exact cost but hinted that it would avoid the super-premium price points that had been previously speculated. Zelnick emphasized that pricing should reflect the value delivered to consumers, stating that “consumers pay for the value that you bring to them” and that the company’s job is to charge “way way way less” than the value provided. He also noted that game pricing has historically become more affordable over time, countering industry assumptions about ever-increasing costs.
