Digital Bros buys the rights to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for €4 million
Italian publisher Digital Bros has acquired the intellectual property rights to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a soulslike action RPG, from Chinese developer Chengdu Lingze Technology (Leenzee) for approximately $4.6–4.7 million. The acquisition grants Digital Bros—parent company of 505 Games, which published the title—full ownership of the franchise and eliminates any future royalty obligations to the original developer.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launched on July 24, 2025, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with additional availability through Xbox Game Pass. The game achieved significant commercial success, selling over 1 million copies worldwide and generating approximately $30–35 million in revenue. It topped Steam’s Global Top Sellers chart before release and attracted over 130,000 concurrent players.
Digital Bros stated that the acquisition “enhances the Group’s ability to make timely decisions regarding [the game’s] future development and related investments” while securing “full retention of the value generated throughout its lifecycle.” The move comes following reports of the original developer’s dissolution, positioning the IP acquisition as a significant consolidation of ownership for the gaming publisher and securing long-term creative and financial control over the successful franchise.
