A New The Division PC Game Is Out Right Now, And It’s Free

Ubisoft has released The Division Resurgence, a free-to-play RPG looter-shooter, on PC in early access. Originally launched on mobile, the game is now available through Ubisoft Connect (not Steam) and marks the company’s expansion of the franchise while players await The Division 3.

Set in New York City, the same urban environment as the original Division game, Resurgence features the series’ signature PvPvE Dark Zone open-world area alongside a PvE campaign. The early-access release will allow Ubisoft to conduct technical testing before the planned 1.0 launch in August. A key feature is cross-saves and cross-progression between the PC and mobile versions, allowing players to seamlessly continue their progress across platforms.

The availability on PC represents a strategic move to broaden Resurgence’s player base beyond mobile users. As a free-to-play title distributed exclusively through Ubisoft’s own platform rather than Steam, it underscores the publisher’s effort to drive engagement on Ubisoft Connect during its transition from early access to full launch.
