Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 ‘Proceeding on Time and on Schedule,’ Director Says

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 is confirmed to be in active development and proceeding “on time and on schedule,” according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. During recent media interviews, Hamaguchi assured fans that while no official release window or launch date has been announced yet, development remains “steadily underway.”

Square Enix is actively preparing for an official announcement of the third and final installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project. Hamaguchi stated that the team is working toward the unveiling and asked fans to “look forward to it just a little longer,” indicating an announcement could come in the near future.

The development team has been in active media engagement this week, largely focused on discussing the porting of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to additional platforms including Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. These ports represent an expansion beyond the original PlayStation 5 platform, bringing the remake series to new audiences across multiple gaming systems.
