Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Adds Crossplay, PS5 VRR Support, More in Massive Free Update
Digital Eclipse has released a significant free update for Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, introducing several major features for the classic fighting game compilation. The headline addition is crossplay functionality, branded as “Krossplay,” which enables online multiplayer battles across different platforms. While disabled by default for player control, crossplay can be activated in the settings menu and is compatible with Quick Play and Online Arcade modes, making it easier for the community to find opponents regardless of their platform.
The update also expands online gameplay options by enabling 2-on-2 matches across select titles within the collection. This multiplayer mode is now available for Ultimate MK3 (Arcade version), Ultimate MK3 (SNES version), Mortal Kombat Trilogy (PS1 version), and Mortal Kombat 4 (Arcade version), providing more social and varied gameplay experiences.
Additionally, the update introduces Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for PlayStation 5. This performance technology allows compatible displays and consoles to sync the monitor’s refresh rate with the game’s frame rate, potentially reducing screen tearing and delivering smoother visuals for players with compatible hardware.
