Warhammer’s Twisted Metal-Style Speed Freeks Roars onto PS5 Next Month
Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks will launch on PlayStation 5 on May 21st, bringing a car combat experience inspired by PlayStation’s classic Twisted Metal series to console. The game features chaotic vehicular action within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, allowing players to engage in destructive combat with the franchise’s iconic orks. Speed Freeks initially became available on PC in 2024, where it spent approximately nine months in early access development before achieving a full release in May 2025. During its time on PC, the game accumulated “very positive” ratings on Steam, with developers releasing numerous major updates that refined the gameplay experience. The PS5 version brings these updates to console players, promising the same explosive action and destructive vehicular combat. The game is currently structured as a player-versus-player experience.
