Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Will See Return of Whaling, Legendary Ships
Ubisoft has confirmed several returning and new features for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, its remake of the acclaimed pirate adventure game. In a Reddit AMA with creative director Paul Fu and game director Richard Knight, the development team revealed that fan-favorite side activities will make a comeback, including whaling, shark hunting, bell diving, legendary ship encounters, and bar games.
Beyond these returning elements, the remake will introduce new features designed to enhance gameplay. Most notably, players will be able to set their pirate ship on autopilot, streamlining navigation and allowing for more flexible gameplay during extended sailing sequences.
The confirmation of these features addresses player concerns about feature parity between the remake and the original Black Flag, which launched in 2013. The developers’ commitment to retaining beloved side activities suggests a faithful approach to the remake while still introducing modern quality-of-life improvements. The autopilot feature in particular represents the kind of contemporary design choice that could appeal to both veterans of the original and new players.
Black Flag Resynced is positioned as a significant undertaking for Ubisoft, with the developers actively engaging with the community through forums like Reddit to discuss development decisions and gather feedback.
