3.7 million players later, UK-made action-survival game Atomfall is getting its own TV show

Rebellion’s critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic action-survival game Atomfall is being adapted into a television series. The show is being co-produced by Rebellion and Two Brothers Pictures, a renowned British production company known for Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series including Fleabag, The Missing, and Baptiste.

The television adaptation will be written by Harry and Jack Williams, the co-founders of Two Brothers Pictures. The pair will also serve as executive producers alongside Rebellion co-founders Jason and Chris Kingsley. According to the announcement, the series aims to expand on the game’s mythology while remaining faithful to its distinctive British tone, themes, and setting.

Atomfall has proven to be a major success for Rebellion, surpassing 3.7 million players globally since its 2025 release. The game recently won Best British Game at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards. The post-apocalyptic survival experience is set in the British Lake District within a quarantine zone following a fictional nuclear disaster inspired by the real-world Windscale disaster of 1957. Players navigate this mysterious environment as an amnesiac protagonist searching for answers and a way out.

The adaptation joins a growing trend of video game-to-television conversions, following successful series such as The Last of Us and Fallout. No casting, release date, or other production timeline details have been announced.
