Chainsaw Man Reze Arc is finally streaming on Crunchroll
Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc is now available to stream on Crunchyroll, six months after its theatrical release. The anime film adaptation continues the manga series’ established pattern of prioritizing darkness and tragedy over conventional narrative satisfaction.
Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, Chainsaw Man has distinguished itself by embracing cruelty and suffering rather than offering comfort or catharsis. This approach starkly contrasts with other romance-driven anime such as My Dress-Up Darling and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, which attempt to give love a fighting chance within their narratives. The Reze Arc exemplifies this divergence by stripping away typical romantic storytelling elements entirely.
The series’ commitment to tragedy extends to questioning whether happiness was ever genuinely possible within its narrative world. By making the film available on Crunchyroll, the franchise extends access to viewers who missed the theatrical run, allowing a broader audience to experience the adaptation’s dark and uncompromising approach to storytelling.
