My Adventures with Superman season 3 teases Cyborg Superman’s arrival

Adult Swim’s My Adventures with Superman will feature Cyborg Superman in its third season, arriving this summer. The animated series has gained critical acclaim for its fresh approach to Superman’s mythology, merging classic comic book storytelling with anime-inspired visual and narrative conventions. Showrunners Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher have been particularly praised for their creative reimagining of Superman’s rogues’ gallery, bringing new dimensions to classic adversaries.

The path to Cyborg Superman’s introduction began in season 2 with the character Hank Henshaw, voiced by Max Mittelman. Henshaw is a S.T.A.R. Labs pilot who holds a deep distrust of Superman, viewing him as a dangerous alien menace rather than a hero. His convictions are vindicated when the season concludes with Brainiac, a rogue AI voiced by Michael Emerson, brainwashing Superman and launching a devastating attack on Earth.

During this invasion, Henshaw attempts to mount a resistance against Brainiac but is shot down by the AI’s orbital space station. This catastrophic encounter appears to be the catalyst for Henshaw’s transformation into Cyborg Superman, one of Superman’s most formidable and ruthless enemies, setting up a compelling storyline for the upcoming season.
