Star Wars top 10 characters of all time list leaves out Luke Skywalker
Fandom released a “top 10 Star Wars characters of all time” list on May the 4th, determining rankings by analyzing fan engagement across its Wookieepedia community over the past year rather than through a direct poll. The methodology examined fan activity patterns to identify the most-discussed and engaged-with characters.
Notably, Luke Skywalker—the protagonist of the original trilogy and one of the franchise’s most iconic figures—was absent from the rankings. The omission represents a significant snub to Mark Hamill’s legendary portrayal of the character. Hamill, now 74 years old, has served as an ambassador for Star Wars for over 50 years since George Lucas cast him in the role in 1976. The actor has remained deeply connected to the franchise throughout his life, embodying the character’s heroic legacy for multiple generations of fans.
