Hogwarts Legacy Is Completely Free Right Now, Here’s How To Get It
Hogwarts Legacy is available completely free through the Epic Games Store from May 1 to May 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT. Players who claim the game during this window can keep it permanently. This marks the second time the title has been offered at no cost on the platform, following a previous free distribution in December 2025 tied to The Game Awards.
The 2023 open-world action-RPG, developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games, has become a major commercial success since its launch, selling 40 million copies and demonstrating the franchise’s enduring popularity. Set in the Harry Potter universe, the game offers players the chance to experience a fantasy adventure through wand-wielding gameplay and exploration of the iconic school setting.
With Hogwarts Legacy 2 already in development, the free promotion provides an opportunity for new players to experience the original game before the sequel arrives. The offer reflects Epic Games Store’s ongoing strategy of distributing premium titles for free to expand its user base and drive engagement on the platform.
