Arc G3 Extreme Benchmark Leaks: MSI Claw 8 EX Handheld Outperforms the Ryzen Competition
Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme processor has shown strong performance credentials in newly leaked PassMark benchmark results, positioning itself as a competitive rival to AMD’s current-generation Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset in the gaming handheld market.
The benchmarks, reportedly from an MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld, reveal the Arc G3 Extreme achieving single-core and multi-core scores of 4,288 and 29,622 respectively. This places it ahead of the Ryzen Z2 Extreme, found in the Asus ROG Ally X, which averages approximately 3,960 (single-core) and 23,600 (multi-core). The Arc G3 Extreme thus demonstrates an 8 percent single-core performance advantage and a more substantial 26 percent lead in multi-core tasks.
Intel is preparing to officially introduce the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme processors for gaming handhelds at Computex in early June. The leaked results suggest that the next generation of mobile gaming PCs could well be powered by Intel’s newest offerings, potentially shaking up a market currently dominated by AMD’s Ryzen mobile processors.
However, the viability of these new devices will depend on market conditions beyond raw performance metrics. The ongoing global memory price surge—driven by AI infrastructure demand—threatens to inflate component costs, potentially making even high-performance gaming handhelds less affordable for consumers. Whether Intel’s performance advantages can overcome pricing concerns remains to be seen as the handheld gaming market prepares for this generational transition.
