Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Confirms Savage Hulk and Shuri Black Panther as Playable Fighters as Fans Spot Hidden Carnage Tease

Arc System Works has confirmed that Hulk and Black Panther will join the roster of playable fighters in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the upcoming tag-team fighting game launching in August 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The announcement was made at Evo Japan 2026 in Tokyo in May, with a new trailer introducing the “Fighting Avengers” squad.

The two characters will appear as Savage Hulk and Shuri’s Black Panther, joining Captain America and Iron Man as members of the Fighting Avengers team. The trailer also revealed Wakanda as a newly playable stage. Hulk is voiced by Fred Tatasciore, while Black Panther (Shuri) is voiced by Erica Lutrell.

A notable aspect of the roster is that Shuri—rather than T’Challa—is the playable Black Panther. This marks a departure from previous Marvel fighting games like Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Marvel’s Avengers, where T’Challa has typically been featured. The choice reflects the comic book tradition of the Black Panther mantle being passed down through generations.

Mechanically, Hulk features a unique Gamma Gauge that, when filled, enhances his strength and speed, making him formidable at various ranges. His character narrative places him as exiled to the Savage Lands due to his instability and power, creating tension with the broader Avengers team. Players can learn more about character backstories and team formations through the game’s Episode Mode.

With 14 confirmed characters announced so far—including Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider, and Ms. Marvel—Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is shaping up to feature an extensive roster drawn from nearly 100 years of Marvel comic book history. The game is a collaboration between Arc System Works and PlayStation Studios.
