Forza Horizon 6 Has Gone Gold Two Weeks Ahead of Release
Playground Games announced that Forza Horizon 6 has achieved gold status, meaning the game is ready for production with launch occurring in approximately two weeks. The studio revealed detailed performance specifications for console versions alongside information about accessibility features and radio stations.
On Xbox Series X, players will have two graphical options: Quality Mode delivers native 4K resolution at 30 frames per second with enhanced visual fidelity, while Performance Mode targets 4K resolution with dynamic scaling to maintain a consistent 60 frames per second. Xbox Series S will offer comparable modes with specifications tailored to its hardware capabilities.
Confirmed install sizes are substantial across platforms: 135GB for Xbox Series X, 130GB for Xbox Series S, and 160GB on PC. These file sizes may extend to the PlayStation 5 version, anticipated to release later in 2026. While PS5’s Kraken compression technology could potentially reduce download sizes, developers have utilized this feature less frequently in recent years.
Playground Games also introduced a loyalty rewards program offering six vehicles at no cost to players who have previously played Forza titles on their Xbox gamertag. These reward cars are cover vehicles from past franchise entries and unlock after completing the Tokyo City introductory race, contingent on having played at least one prior Forza game.
