Lego announces Sega Genesis console set coming in June: First photos
Lego and Sega have announced a collaborative collectible set bringing the iconic Sega Genesis console to life in brick form. The Lego Sega Genesis Console set, launching in June, allows enthusiasts to build either the North American Sega Genesis or the internationally-released Sega Mega Drive variant, paying homage to Sega’s influential 16-bit console.
The 479-piece set includes comprehensive accessories that recreate the original console experience. Builders receive two detachable three-button controllers matching the original hardware design, a removable game cartridge, sticker decorations, and a hidden Easter egg—a Sonic the Hedgehog portrait paying tribute to the console’s most famous franchise.
The product’s packaging continues the retro aesthetic with a deliberately worn and scuffed appearance, mimicking vintage console boxes from the 1980s and 90s. This attention to nostalgic detail extends throughout the design, creating an authentic collectible experience for both casual fans and dedicated retro gaming enthusiasts.
This collaboration represents the latest in gaming nostalgia products, combining Lego’s modular construction system with beloved gaming history. The set targets the growing market of adult collectors interested in gaming memorabilia and provides a new way to celebrate Sega’s impact on video game history and console design.
