Subnautica 2 Coming To Game Pass At Launch
Unknown Worlds Entertainment has announced that Subnautica 2 will join Xbox Game Pass on its launch day, making it immediately available to subscribers across multiple platforms. The game is set to release on May 14 for both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, with access on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and ROG Xbox Ally.
Following the same strategy as its Steam launch, Subnautica 2 will enter the market in early access, with Xbox branding this as Game Preview to denote its unfinished status. This approach allows players early access to the game while the developers continue refining the experience.
The sequel launches with considerable momentum, currently holding the distinction of being the most-wishlisted game on Steam. This enthusiasm is built on a solid foundation: the original Subnautica, released in 2018, achieved critical and commercial success and cultivated a dedicated fanbase. The franchise expanded with Below Zero, a spin-off that also resonated positively with players.
